Born from an exploration of three notable interpretations of Times (by Francesco Simoncini, Aldo Novarese, and Umberto Fenocchio) Leif retains the essential structure and versatility of Times while infusing it with character and playfulness. Where the original Times is often perceived as cold and rational, Leif introduces a sense of delight and expressive charm, making communication feel inviting and joyful.

The font software has four stylistic sets: ss01 for alternate oldstyle one forms, ss02 for a single-storey a, ss03 for alternate percent and per mille signs, and ss10 for a multiplier sign intended for dimension notation, such as 10 x 10 cm.
