About
Store Norske Trafikk is a constructed sans-serif typeface rooted in the visual tradition of Norwegian road signage. It is inspired by Trafikkalfabetet (Karl Petter Sandbæk, 1965), developed for the Norwegian Public Roads Administration, and influenced by both the German road sign typeface DIN 1451 and the British Transport. Store Norske Trafikk draws on core characteristics from these predecessors to further develop and refine this heritage. The typeface is now available with full Latin Extended character support, in Medium and Medium Italic styles.
